The NASA Curiosity rover is the most sophisticated rover ever deployed on Mars.

On August 2012, the one-ton NASA Curiosity rover descended onto a massive crater on Mars. Since its landing, the Curiosity rover has recorded more generated more data about the Red Planet than all previous Mars rover missions combined. A key finding has been the presence of an ancient streambed where water flowed millions of years ago and possibly supported microbial life.
