Bemidji State University researchers see if beaver dams are threatening trout habitat.

Bemidji State University researchers are investigating whether beaver dams are threatening the cool water habitat that trout need to survive in northeast Minnesota. Beaver dams can potentially impact trout streams by warming water temps and increasing sediment and erosion. But the dams also create critical habitat for waterfowl, moose, frogs and other wetland wildlife.
