- [Interviewee] Right.
(upbeat music) - At its core, "Human Footprint" is our story.
It's a story of humans, how they've changed the planet in so many strange, weird, fundamental ways, but then also how those changes kind of flip back around and change who we are as a species.
- We wanted to make a science series that really explored the way in which we transformed the planet.
We have an episode on invasive species.
We have an episode all about dogs.
We have an episode about cities and then looking at humans as the world's top predator.
It's a complicated world out there and issues you might have a strong opinion about are a lot more complicated than you might think.
- In large part, PBS is the reason why I'm a scientist and the reason why I've gravitated toward storytelling.
Those first people who looked like me that I actually saw storytelling were all on PBS.
There's such a rich history in PBS and proud to now sort of be a part of that history.
