U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin was the first woman elected to the United States Congress from Wisconsin. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Doris, who grew up in the time before women could vote. Doris saw immense progress for women’s rights in her lifetime, including being able to vote for her granddaughter.
