- My name is Liani Yirka.
I work here at Sarah P. Duke Gardens as the Education Program Coordinator.
We provide a space for anybody to kind of come, learn about nature, feel safe and welcome here.
We need plants in our life.
Plants make us possible and we make plants possible.
Anything from like the food we eat to the clothes we wear, a lot of that comes from plants and from nature.
The more we can protect and support nature, the better off we all are.
Nature helps us to be happy and healthy.
We try to encourage kids and families to come out and learn and explore while they're here, so that they can feel safe when they're outdoors and feel like they belong in nature.
