Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipfinally tonight how about this for a summer attraction there's now a place where you can sing karaoke with Frank Sinatra interview stars like Danny DeVito and blast into space with astronauts Mark and Scott Kelly all in the same afternoon the New Jersey Hall of Fame is getting a high-tech permanent home honoring its hundreds of inductees and their contributions to the state and in true Jersey Pride the center is located inside a mall Raven s got A Sneak Peek before it opens to the public at the end of the month you want to learn about John boni's speech you tap on John bonjovi and you put it in and it's going to pop up here on the screen this touch screen is just one of many interactive activities at New Jersey Hall of Fame here on the third floor of the American dream Mall in East Rutherford this has been a long time in the making so the New Jersey Hall of Fame has been around for about 15 years however we never had a permanent home and now this is it general manager of the Hall of Fame Brian blay and Executive Vice President Leo erline gave me a private tour of the 10,000 foot state-of-the-art attraction that cost about $20 million it highlights more than 200 inductees with various achievements we go from the artists um Jack Nicholson um Bon Jovi Bruce Springsteen Frank Sinatra right and then and then we have artists we have um um Arthur we have philanthropists we have people who have done great things in New Jersey you know along the way um Wellington Mara bringing the Giants to New Jersey Leon hes think of just the big names that are involved in our Hall of Fame it's very diverse and very inclusive the entertainment and learning center allows guests the fun opportunity to interview Holograms of inductees like Danny DeVito in this late night Jersey television studio and if you ever wondered what it's like to sing with a music artist the Hall of Fame also allows you the experience to join a New Jersey Legend on stage so we have eight permanent exhibitions um and they are super immersive everything from virtual reality tours with inductees of their hometowns so you can see the same Corners that they hang out that you might that you might frequent and the same stores that you might shop at uh we also have a really immersive uh 4D um simulator experience where we we learned some of the stem contributions to the fields of stem that some of our our inductees have made uh you actually get to go on a virtual reality tour in um in a model T of space um and you get to talk to or interact with some of uh our inductees such as the the Kelly Brothers um Buzz Aldren um Albert Einstein and and Thomas Edison it's a really awesome experience we talked about the educational value of it so when you think about going to the moon it's not just the you know oh here we are in the moon it's how they got there and the science behind it right and when you talk about Bobby Brown one of our inductees it's just not about her business but the chemicals that go involved in making makeup and and her products line says the goal of the New Jersey Hall of Fame is to inspire people to be themselves and find a hero that they can identify with especially students well we're going to have a a whole program based on school kids trying to get them here to experience and be inspired by our Jersey and duct uh we're going to go out into the community and bring kids to our our program starting in the fall we'll have a program designed for for sponsorships and then we'll give the tickets to the kids in the school to get here and experience New Jersey for those who are interested in visiting so to walk to the whole uh Museum or entertainment Learning Center it'll take you about 45 minutes and for out of Staters it's going to cost you $25 for inators it's $1 1999 and we'll have a special program for kids and groups for NJ Spotlight news I'm Raven Santana [Music]
