We look ahead as Democrats get ready to kick off their convention on Monday. Bay Area native Gene Luen Yang is the first graphic novelist to be named the National Ambassador for Young People's Literature. Some youth service providers aren't surprised by the recent allegations of officer sexual exploitation roiling the Oakland Police Department and other Bay Area law enforcement agencies.
